Nick's Travel Training Series--Pre-Competition Warm-Up

Share:

pre-competition warmupWelcome back, Bridge fans. I would like to use this episode to share some ideas and concepts to help you make your pre-competition warm up the best possible. The most important aspect of this warm up is to implement it during the off-season or pre-season, allowing your body time to adjust to the concept prior to competition. Keep the warm up as dynamic as possible. The idea is to warm up the body's core temperature and muscles without fatiguing them. Following are some recommendations to add to your toolbox to help get yourself or your team ready to compete. As always, remember to have your water bottle at your side to stay hydrated before competing.

As a reminder, here are the exercises shown in the video:

Lower back:
  • Lower Back Rollout
  • Lower Back Lateral
  • Lower Back Single-Leg Lateral

The dynamic movements:

  • Jumping Jacks
  • Skiers
  • Toy Soldiers

Lower body:

  • Hamstrings
  • Quads
  • Goblet Squats

Upper body:

  • Windmills
  • High-Elbow Rotations
  • Bent-Over Windmills
  • Handles
  • Pumps
  • Pushups
  • Inchworms

Full Body:

  • Inchworms

We hope that you enjoyed this episode of the Travel Training Series!
