By BridgeAthletic on August 26, 2019

Equal Training Needs Equal Research

Since launching the PowerUp in January, our team has found a serious lack of research focused on female athlete development, injury and performance.

With few resources available, training protocols are less informed, leaving many with little confidence in their strength and conditioning plans and injury-mitigation preparedness.

Does Powerlifting Harm Heart Health?

By BridgeAthletic on August 05, 2019

A recent study has discovered that a 12-week supervised strength training program (SSTP) may result in significant arterial stiffness and increased oxidative stress (OxS) in powerlifting athletes. The findings suggest that prolonged overproduction of OxS is linked to the development of cardiovascular diseases, such as stroke.
